After ‘confirming‘ in January its new LG Optimus G Pro smartphone won’t be released in Australia, LG recently lodged an Australian trade mark application for the smartphone’s logo.
The logo (pictured above) is currently ‘pending’ trade mark approval, and was lodged on April 11.
“The Optimus G Pro is not planned for release in the Australian market,” is what an LG spokesperson told PC World Australia earlier in the year.
The phone started out as a Japanese-only upgrade from the LG Optimus G smartphone, which was released in Australia in March. However, after garnering positive sales and reviews in Japan, the ‘Pro’ model recently went on sale in the US too.
The Australian trade mark – TM number 1551229 – is lodged under Class 9, which covers “telephone sets” and other associated portable devices.
